Product Description

Discovered in 1967 in the foothills of Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro, tanzanite was first introduced to the world by Tiffany the following year. Ranging from velvety blue to royal purple, this rare gemstone is found only in its namesake country. This enticing gem soon became the darling of Tiffany & Co. who gave the stone its name and set out to have the world enjoy its intense coloration and exotic flare. The Company referred to it as “the most beautiful blue stone to be discovered in 2,000 years.”

This genuine Tiffany and Co. 7.16 carat tanzanite is the finest color available anywhere with a deep bluish-purple color. The ring sits high and proud on your hand. The oval shape adds to its overall captivating richness and brilliance. This fine gem is set in an exquisite mounting with two rows of 14 round brilliant cut diamonds that are shared prong set and surround the center stone. The 28 diamonds have an  total weight of 2.96ctw. and an approximate GIA color and clarity of “G/VS”. The color contrast between the fiery bluish-purple gem and the white diamonds is fantastic. Stamped inside the split shank is the official "TIFFANY & CO" signature hallmark, along with "Irid Plat". The ring is currently a size 6 and weighs 5.9dwt. This is ring is in fabulous condition and would make a special addition to any jewelry collection.
