This is a splendid original Art Deco gemstone stone ring, hand fabricated in platinum by John Wanamaker Jewelers in Philadelphia. This emerald and diamond ring was purchased at John Wanamaker in Philadelphia in July 1926 (see photo of receipt). This gorgeous ring displays a luscious 1.60 carat cabochon emerald that is bezel set in the center. The emerald has a fantastic, vivid green color and is surrounded by 2 round European cut diamonds each weighing .50 carats with an approximate GIA color and clarity of I/SI1. Delicately applied open-work ornamentation and fine milgrain work combined with floral motifs create a romantic and ravishing effect. To finish the ring, four additional diamonds (.10 carats) have been bead set on the shoulders with beautifully applied pierce-work, milgraining and hand-engraved details that adds an extra dimension to this beautiful vintage diamond ring. Ring size 6 ¼ and stamped inside 24294 and a faint J is still visible from the JW stamp.
